Community Engagement

All Inclusive

A key component in reducing sexual violence on campus is engaging with all members of the Tulane community. Being an engaged community member could include attending an event, requesting or attending a sexual violence prevention related workshop or training, or becoming involved in one of the new community engagement opportunities coming this year. Some of these new opportunities will include:

  • Creation of a new student leader coalition to increase student voice and engagement around issues of sexual violence.
  • Creation of The Tulane Coalition to Stop Sexual Violence, to bring together students, staff, and faculty to address the issue of sexual violence.
  • A new Graduate Assistant position in The Well for Health Promotion to begin focusing on initiatives for LGBTQ+ students.
  • Research with LGBTQ+ students and with students of color to better understand how sexual violence impacts these communities and how Tulane can better support them.
  • Development of a men’s mentoring program to link male-identified students with male-identified staff and faculty.
